Marigold
Marigold is perhaps the main blossoming annuals developed in India. It has acquired prominence by virtue of its simple culture and wide flexibility, wide appealing shadings, shape, size and great keeping quality. The developed marigold species are principally two. Those are: African Marigold – Tagetes erecta and French Marigold – Tagetes patula.

The African marigold plant is strong, yearly and develops around 90 cm tall, erect and expanded. Leaves are pinnately isolated and pamphlets are lanceolate and serrated. Blossoms are single to completely twofold with huge globular heads. The florets are either 2-lipped or quilled. Bloom tone changes from lemon yellow to yellow, brilliant yellow or orange.
